Ian Bamford

Based at the University of Cambridge Institute for Manufacturing the Centre researches how to improve the commercial, environmental and social impacts of manufacturing.
Ian has 35 years of industry experience in multinational companies such as Dell, Philips and Xerox and has set up and run small and mid-sized technology and consulting businesses in the USA and the UK.
He is responsible for the operational running of the Centre, and the relationships with partners in Industry, Academia and Dissemination organisations.
Of particular interest is ensuring that the results of research are converted into products and services that can be easily used by industry. The Centre has produced over 20 tools and worked with over 170 enterprises to improve sustainable performance.
