Jessica Sumner

Jessica is responsible for managing, leading and developing the organisation in line with the strategy and policies approved by trustees, and the business plan. She makes sure that Community Works are able to meet the needs of voluntary and community organisations effectively and that they are able to represent their views and expertise, and promote what they do. Jessica works closely with local leaders in Brighton, Hove, Adur and Worthing to achieve this and to ensure that voluntary and community expertise contributes to making
local areas better for everyone.

Jessica has experience in the voluntary and community sector for the majority of the last 20 years. The main area of work has previously been with charities offering frontline delivery to members of the public. She moved to working for an organisation which supports other organisations as she felt passionately there is huge need for support to find funding and ensure sustainability of the sector and to make the case for how relevant and important the voluntary and community sector is to society.
